Come visit us at The Museum of Military Memorabilia. We have thousands of military artifacts from all branches of the Military. The Museum is located in the Naples Municipal Airport which was originally built by the Army Corps of Engineers to train pilots for the pacific theater in WWII.

What has begun as a Museum Honoring Military Aviation in WWII has evolved into so much more. You can now see historical artifacts dating back to the Revolutionary War and all the way up to the present day Iraq & Afghanistan conflicts.

2012 marked the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Naples Airport as a WWII Army Air Forces Training Base.

Johnny Cash and Our Ragged Old Flag

Johnny Cash and Our Ragged Old Flag

Johnny Cash and Our Ragged Old Flag,  I stumbled upon this old video. It brought tears to my eyes and I just had to share! I don’t remember Johnny Cash doing this but I love him even more for writing it! God Bless America!  J.R.JohnnyCash (February 26, 1932 – September 12, 2003) was an American singer-songwriter, actor, and author,  widely considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century primarily remembered as a country music icon, his genre-spanning songs and sound embraced rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel. Johnny Cash and Our Ragged Old Flag, This crossover appeal won Cash the rare honor of multiple inductions in the Country Music, Rock and Roll and Gospel Music Halls of Fame. Cash enlisted in the United States Air Force on July 7, 1950. After basic training at Lackland Air Force Base and technical training at Brooks Air Force Base, both in San Antonio, Texas, Cash was assigned to the 12th Radio Squadron Mobile of the U.S. Air Force Security Service at Landsberg, Germany as a Morse Code Intercept Operator for Soviet Army transmissions.  It was there he created his first band, named “The Landsberg Barbarians”.  He was the first radio operator to pick up the news of the death of Joseph Stalin.  As far as this story goes Folsom Prison Blues or A Boy Named Sue  can’t hold a candle to Johnny Cash and Our Ragged Old Flag   in this poem. In the video you’re about to see, music legend Johnny Cash tells us a story we’re not likely to forget — he tells OUR story, detailing the difficult yet beautiful journey of the American flag

Ragged Old Flag

The Wall Song is a tribute born out of the kindred creative spirits of poet Judy Gorman King and songwriters Mitch Townley and Brad Dunse. Mitch heard Judy present her poem, The Spirit Of The Wall, at a Nashville benefit for homeless veterans in March, 2008. She gave him permission to use the poem as the inspirational foundation for the song. Mitch invited his good friend, singer/songwriter Brad Dunse to collaborate with him and the project was underway. The Wall Song was recorded in Nashville in July, 2008 by artist J.P. Williams and produced by Chip Martin.

We pray that The Wall Song will honor our surviving and fallen heroes of the Vietnam War as well as any who have served in the Armed Forces.
